The Patient Access Supervisor performs services in a designated Patient Access area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. The Patient Access Supervisor works cooperatively within the department and with other service lines throughout Emerson Hospital to create a system of quality health care.

Maintains current knowledge in area(s) of Pre-Registration, Admitting, Registration, Scheduling and Verification. Assists Department Director in interviewing, evaluating, training, educating, and daily supervision of the Patient Service Representatives for all shifts within the Pre-Registration department. Additionally, the Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for 'On Call' coverage as determined by the Department Director based on operational need. Develops the monthly schedule for Patient Service Representatives for their area of responsibility and fills vacancies as needed by adjusting their work schedule and duties as needed. Manages the daily operations of the respective Point of Access / Patient Access area of responsibility on all shifts as directed by the Department Director.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience, in Healthcare a plus
