The Forest Stewardship Education Initiative educates forest landowners to better understand, manage and protect their forests by developing a forest management plan, engage with natural resource professionals, and take advantage of cost-share opportunities that can help them meet their management goals.

Position Summary:
The Forest Stewardship Community Education Specialist uses professional community educational program concepts to deliver standardized educational workshops to private forest landowners throughout California and applies established procedures and programs to address landowner needs. Workshops focus on helping landowners become better forest stewards by helping them learn about forestry, forest management and connecting them to cost-share programs and forestry professionals. This position utilizes standard practices in analyzing program content and delivery needs and determining effectiveness of current programs. The Forest Stewardship Community Education Specialist collaborates with, and reports to the Forest Stewardship Education Initiative Academic Coordinator on all assignments.

This position is a contract appointment that is 100% fixed through 6/30/2024 with the possibility of extension.

Pay Scale: $20.26/hour to $26.68/hour

This position is open until filled. The first applicant review date will be 12/13/2022.

This position will promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.
