The School of Religion at Loma Linda University seeks a full-time faculty member for a position in the Relational Studies Area who can effectively communicate, inspire, and mentor students aspiring for employment in healthcare, chaplaincy, and bioethics. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to integrate her/his respective area of research with the clinical world. Moreover, academic specialization should contribute to the scope of the Relational Studies Area, which includes but is not limited to practical theology, spirituality, chaplaincy, and whole person care. Scholarly aptitude may also be complemented by two other broad areas of inquiry within the School of Religion as represented by the Ethical Studies Area (bioethics, professional and social ethics, law), and Theological Studies Area (biblical studies, theology, historical studies, philosophy, world religions, and missiology). With a premier graduate program in chaplaincy, the Relational Studies Area faculty applicants who possess training and competency in healthcare chaplaincy are especially desirable. Master of Arts, Master of Divinity (or equivalent) is the minimum. PhD is preferred. Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church required. Professional certification, licensure, or registration as appropriate (e.g., BCC, LMFT, LPC). Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able speak in English with professional quality. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. The salaried rate of pay will be determined commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Minimum $64,480/annually. Maximum $225,472/annually. Additional Information
