Building Systems Automation and Controls Engineer

Key Role:

Manage and support the operation and maintenance of client facility infrastructure automation systems. Ensure systems are functional and available while looking for ways to make improvements using the latest technology and best implementation strategies. Analyze and recommend improvements to system scalability and performance as the client adds devices to their controls portfolio. Respond to control system alerts and assist client operations and maintenance contractors with troubleshooting. Oversee the development of graphics and reports for the system front-end (GUI/HMI), including ensuring uninterrupted communication between the field devices and the monitoring system across a wide variety of client-building automation control systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT systems administration, network architecture, network communications protocols for Building Automation Systems (BAS), Supervisory Control, and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA)
  • Experience with analog and digital control systems for facility infrastructure automation systems
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Ability to comprehend, design, and build IT networks and control systems
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with the design, integration, and management of SCADA systems technology using PLC networks
  • Experience with industrial-grade distributed control systems (DCS)
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
