What are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced people leader who is capable of running the day-to-day activities of a QA team, as well as executing the long-term roadmap of the team as part of the engineering department to help it reach its goals. You have experience hiring, leading, coaching, and motivating a QA team. Your team will make sure that we deliver a great and bug-free software experience to our valued users. You drive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What will you do?
  • You will manage the day-to-day activities of our QA team, while leading the team's continued growth and expansion.
  • You will recruit, interview, hire, train, and onboard new team members.
  • You will work closely with developers and product managers to ensure we are delivering the best possible product.
  • You will develop and monitor data metrics to measure the success of your team, and proactively and clearly communicate these results to the rest of the organization.
  • You are willing to be hands-on whenever needed.
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?

Yes! We work in Pacific Time and this role will be remote until our office in Mountain View, CA is fully open. Once our office is fully open, you have the option of moving to the area or continuing to work remotely. If you choose to stay remote, we ask that you travel to the office once every two months to spend time with the team (We will cover travel expenses).

Requirements
  • Must be able to legally work in the US.
  • Experience managing a QA team.
  • Experience hiring, recruiting, growing, retaining, and scaling teams.
  • In-depth understanding of web development concepts and principles.
  • Knowledge of best practices for test case authoring, execution and staffing
  • Great technical understanding of very complex products and systems.
  • Comfortable with SQL and relational databases.
  • Comfortable with Git.
  • Get-things-done attitude with eagerness to build something great.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: . Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
