Director - Consulting

As an Associate Director in Cognizant Data Consulting, you will have a strong focus on cloud data architectures and provide a thorough understanding of cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in designing and deploying data architectural solutions on various cloud platforms, with some on prem experience as well. You will have strong communication and leadership qualities in order to guide client conversations around building and managing data pipelines and building secure, multi-purpose, scalable cloud architectures for our clients in a variety of industries.

You will focus on the evaluation, strategy, design, customization and optimization of Cloud Technology based solutions for data. You will apply results-oriented thinking to meet our clients' complex challenges and develop new strategies for acquiring, analyzing, modeling and storing data. You will have deep knowledge of the latest data technology and information management approaches to design effective logical data modeling, metadata management and database warehouse domains.

An ideal candidate will have a diverse technical background and comfortably communicate with both C-level business stakeholders and technical specialists. can easily navigate between technical specialists and C-level business stakeholders. You will work closely with our sales team to design and develop execution strategies that drive the delivery of data solutions.??

You will be well-versed in conducting tactical stakeholder interviews, gathering and evaluating business requirements, conducting gap analyses and devising plans of action that are clear and comprehensive to specialists, business stakeholders and C-level representatives alike. When designing data solutions, you already anticipate potential future ways of data discovery, extraction, ingestion, data cleansing, data warehousing and monitoring, while dealing with large and various sets of structured and unstructured data.?

You will have ample experience with real time data ingestion from a variety of data sources and have designed self-service systems for data consumption. Your work will predominantly be towards defining, designing, and building data architectures, data strategies tied to business objectives, and data service platforms.

Role and Responsibilities:




  • Develop data strategies for clients that are tied to business objectives and outcomes





  • Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design and implementation to meet stated requirements for metadata management, operational data stores and ETL environments with a strong focus on cloud environments





  • Review existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing underperforming areas



  • Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)



  • Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes





  • Assess our client current state and design new processes and approaches in order to close tool and process gaps in order to guide our clients toward a more effective digital future with data



  • Lead client presentations and conversations during both the sales and implementation cycles



  • Research new technologies, data modeling methods and information management systems to determine which ones should be incorporated into client data architectures, and develop implementation timelines and milestones



  • Be the principal advisor to key account initiatives and oversight on select client programs.



  • Deliver outstanding client results through the oversight of client teams to implement recommendations





  • Draw conclusions from the market / industry trends, client issues and support go to market initiatives for Cognizant





Basic Qualifications:




  • MBA (or equivalent work experience), with an overall work experience of 10 or more years



  • Certification with one or more Cloud providers





  • Knowledge of North America customers and industries



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills



  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills



  • Willingness to travel throughout North America

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and manage multiple task assignments, and direct teams on major engagements



  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary



  • Ability to develop and own client relationships



  • Well-developed communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills





  • Domain expertise in one of more of the following industries: Banking and Financial Services, Insurance, Health Care, Life Sciences, Technology, Communications, Information, Media and Entertainment, Retail, Consumer Products, Manufacturing and Logistics, Travel and Hospitality.
