Job Responsibilities
As a member of the Viasat Technical Data Link (TDL) Frontline Initial Response Team (VFIRST), you will be providing training in the areas of Link-16, TACAN and Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) applications, engineering, integration, installation, testing, and analysis of the MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and the MIDS Low Volume Terminal (LVT) to both international and US customers via classroom instruction and laboratory settings. As a Field Applications Engineer/Trainer, you'll provide on-site support, phone support, installation, and integration support for MIDS LVTs and MIDS JTRS radios. You'll travel to customers locations and support their activities for up to four (4) weeks for training courses, field support, integration and installation support and product demonstrations. You act as the primary contact for customer instruction, as well as coordination with Viasat development engineering, manufacturing teams to address all manners of technical improvements, radio waveform developments and technical issues that need to be shared during courses of instruction. Additionally, you will help to integrate existing and new operational MIDS/LINK 16, and JTRS compliant radios, support equipment, and craft documentation based on integration and installation efforts, and will also provide TDL engineering support to include: terminal level pre-screening, expediting terminal repairs, software reprogramming and coordinating Return to Vendor repairs for the MIDS Depot. For Colorado-based jobs only: The minimum for this position is $108,550 annually; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
