In this Deputy Program Management position you will be help manage a growing set of development and integration programs in the tactical communications market for the Next Generation Tactical Data Links business area, working with the US Government and industry partners, and providing leadership to the Viasat team. This role requires strong leadership and program management skills. Experience in managing US Government contracts and using metrics such as Earned Value is a plus. You'll take pride in the work we do for our military and our country, and it will show in your diligence to make things happen.


Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in program management, or related support, with some of that experience in delivering integrated products
  • Proven experience providing oversight to co-located team(s) over diverse geographical locations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop program plans, set up project schedules, and provide engineering mentorship and recommendations
  • Basic understanding of contract types, program financials, and risk and opportunity management practices
  • Ability to provide regular status on programs and production activities, including presentations to customers and senior management
  • Proven ability to support proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development activities
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
  • US Government position. US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD secret clearance or have held one in the last two years
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Preferences
  • Experience with development of small, complex electronics products
  • Experience with Link 16 systems and networks
  • Experience with Project Management tools (e.g., MS Project) and Information Sharing tools (e.g., Confluence wiki)
  • Experience with Government systems and service acquisition programs, Domestic and International
  • Experience in integration of systems into various military platforms
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
