Description

The Solutions Architect will lead assessments of our customer's business challenges, identify potential process and technology solutions and innovations that address these challenges, and be the driving force to develop, refine, and communicate these solutions to the SBG team and customer(s) in proposals and briefings. The location for this position remote.

Responsibilities:

The Solutions Architect is concerned not simply with the technology of the solution but many other issues, such as system operation, performance, economic viability, feasibility of development, and logistical support. Be a technical driving force behind the project, not a "consultant."

The Solutions Architect will:

  • Develop technical, operational, and staffing solution approaches to customer needs and challenges. Present technical solutions and concepts to customers as well as internal executives and stakeholders.
  • Identify and advocate opportunities for technical and cost-saving innovation
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and share this understanding with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead solution development sessions with capture and proposal teams. Work with the proposal team and Capture Manager to determine author assignments and integrate win strategy, themes, and discriminators into proposal.
  • Reduce complex, integrated technical and operational solutions to easy-to-understand graphics for use in briefings and proposals
  • Participate in business growth pursuits, collaborating in brainstorming sessions, reviewing proposal sections, and envisioning alternative technical solutions to support client goals

Essential Duties include:

  • Translate solutions into effective business proposals. Evaluate and quickly identify issues, gaps and make recommendations.
  • Work effectively with Project and Program leaders to analyze system architectures.
  • Use leadership qualities to drive the technical effort across the various teams and make recommendations on critical issues under pressure.
  • Develop technical proposal sections (written and graphical) by assembling information to meet requirements. Edit presentations and proposal content for clarity and consistency
  • Apply experience to craft and develop customer-focused solutions in:

    • The software development lifecycle
    • The domain of the application and platform risk analysis, dependencies, decision analysis skills and full understanding of the most common SDLCs
    • Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/IS) domains
    • Deliverables-based management to focus on the delivery of solutions that meet or exceed customer's needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar degree with application development focus preferred.
  • Minimum seven (7) years' experience in Federal IT and/or health-focused federal agencies such as VHA, DHA, MHS, IHS, CMS, and NIH.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role in federal government legacy systems
  • Well-versed in disciplines that contribute to systems engineering and possess strong skills in analysis, and solution synthesis.
  • Ability to apply heuristic and inductive reasoning as well as the deductive reasoning of other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong, effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct management.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines
