Data Science Technical Lead

We have an opportunity for you to use your leadership and analytical skills. You'll work closely with your customer to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You will have the opportunity to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence by working with the military to develop innovative solutions that harness the best technologies to process vast amounts of data for critical mission systems and decision making. You will apply knowledge of your field of specialization towards the assessment of program concepts, research and development activities, or emerging technologies. You'll mentor teammates, develop algorithms, write scripts, build predictive analytics, use automation, apply machine learning, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help DoD make informed decisions. You'll provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the intelligence community.

You Have:

• Experience with designing, developing, and leading analytics or software development projects, including in a technical strategy or project management role

• Experience with authoring technical content, including whitepapers or peer-reviewed articles related to data science and machine learning

• Experience with developing and mentoring staff at all levels and building an internal capacity to deliver high quality and highly innovative analytics services

• Experience with data profiling and statistical analysis for machine modeling tools and generation of predictive models

• Knowledge of data science and machine learning algorithms, including structured, unstructured, or relational and data mining and machine learning techniques

• Ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively, including presenting to senior executives, industry conferences, technical seminars, or meet-ups

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with text mining, text analytics, and Natural Language Processing toolkits

• Experience with developing analytics for geospatial and commercial imagery data

• Experience with developing and driving cross-cutting capabilities or solutions

• Experience with using statistical metrics to generate quantified performance reports for effectiveness and efficiency

• Experience with statistical analysis tools to determine variability of predictions in multiple dimensions and sensitivity and specificity of models

• Experience with identification of non-obvious data anomalies, identification of data correlations for predictive modeling, hypothesis testing to validate model performance and to confirm or reject hypothesis, or performing data profiling and associated statistical analysis in preparation for presenting data to rule sets, name matching algorithms, and entity matching tools

• Knowledge of modern software development techniques, methods, and technologies, including AWS, Hortonworks, Docker, and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of Agile process or SAFe methodologies

• Master's degree

• DoD 8570 Compliance Certification, including Security+ Certification

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
