Job Description

The Senior Architect - Core IT Infrastructure & Cloud is the lead technical resource responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing and maintaining the core foundational infrastructure services required by Grace to achieve its business objectives. The candidate must possess a broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies necessary for effectively implementing and supporting critical systems.

The primary focus of this role will require the candidate to support Microsoft's 365/Azure suite of services while leveraging traditional on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure to achieve cost-effective, secure, and reliable solutions for Grace's foundational computing needs. These solutions will require expertise in networking, directory services, virtualization, security and cloud architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tier 3 support and policy administration for Microsoft's 365/Azure services: Messaging, Teams, OneDrive, SSO, Directory Sync, DNS, etc...
  • Review major change update bulletins from Microsoft and assess impact.
  • Research Microsoft 365/Azure frequently changing service offerings and make recommendations.
  • Automate Microsoft 365/Azure tasks via PowerShell scripts.
  • Provide guidance to level 1 & 2 Microsoft 365 support personnel.
  • Support ProofPoint anti-malware/anti-spam implementation.
  • Troubleshoot mail flow issues between end-user, Microsoft 365/Azure tenant, on-prem SMTP and Proofpoint services.
  • Assist in all phases of enterprise architecture development and implementation.
  • Coordinate opportunity assessments and proofs-of-concept to assess the value of new and emerging technologies.
  • Design/Deploy Hybrid Cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud Platform) to provide seamless integration with existing on-premises solutions.
  • Perform systems design, administration, documenting, maintenance, monitoring and support of physical and virtual servers in a 24/7 enterprise production environment.
  • Perform infrastructure changes, performance tuning, backups, and migrations.
  • Participate in monthly weekend maintenance activity to apply system patches and upgrades.
  • Follow Grace's SDLC project framework and change management processes.
  • Participate in the design, testing, execution, and run-book creation of disaster recovery plans in Azure.
  • Assist in developing IT budgetary estimates for any new infrastructure solutions required to support goals and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 10% possible.
  • Advanced group facilitation and effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate remote teams and work effectively with offshore resources.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science or related major
  • Microsoft 365/Azure administration experience.
  • Project management experience
  • 6+ year's experience in designing, integrating and managing complex network and system infrastructure solutions including cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of network architectures and virtualization technologies
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong documentation skills (visio, flow diagrams, etc...)
