Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (remote)

This is a remote position open to any qualified applicant in the United States.

Cognizant Technology's Corporate FP&A is seeking a candidate to support senior FP&A leadership in the analysis of business results benchmarked against budget and prior year during monthly and quarterly closes, managing and consolidating the monthly revenue forecasts, assisting with the facilitation of the annual budget process and ad hoc analyses as necessary.

The successful candidate will need to be highly collaborative working across functions (e.g., FP&A, Controller, Operations, Treasury, Tax) and deft at working up and down management hierarchy (e.g., from Analyst to COO) to articulate business driver variances for monthly deliverables. These monthly/quarterly deliverables typically include:



  • CFO Deck: A PowerPoint deck summary of YTD actual results with commentary explaining changes in business results along with full year P&L forecast updates. The deck is a product of multiple inputs including business review conference calls and business results packages using templates developed and maintained by Corp FP&A.
  • MBR Deck
  • Revenue and Margin Forecast: Consolidate monthly revenue updates by the Operations teams, and provide summary commentary on changes since the last cycle.
  • Revenue and Margin Budgeting: manage the budget process (e.g., time lines, templates, consolidations, communications). The successful candidate will also have experience with a global planning system for budget support
  • 10-Q MD&A Support: Summarize quarterly global business revenues and profitability, accompanied with commentary on factors impacting both. In addition, summaries of expense drivers between sequential quarters, year-over-year quarters and YTD vs prior YTD are provided to the External Reporting team.





FINANCIAL ANALYSIS



  • Analyze past & current financial results to identify key trends / one-timers, perform detailed Variance Analysis for MoM / QoQ / YoY movements.
  • Correlate & Connect the Dots between multiple data points towards ad-hoc reports / analysis that may be required at short notice.
  • Provide Actionable Insights to Senior Management team of the Business Unit & other stakeholders.
  • Forecast vs Actual - Analyze the results against the forecast and provide insights on the same.
  • Provide Revenue & Margin Forecast for the BU on an ongoing basis, explaining movements against past period as well as against previous Forecast.
  • Understand the methodology / processes behind various systems / tools & clarify stakeholders in business teams on need basis.



PRICING



  • Involve in Deal Pricing discussions and respond to the business regarding completeness of the Pricing sheet. Educate stakeholders on the various costs to be added in Pricing.
  • Highlight / flag the areas of concern to the Manager and ensure submission of Completed Pricing.
  • Own the Customer Submission Template for large deals, on need basis.
  • Analyze Bid Vs Did on quarterly basis with actionable insights and thereby bring forth additional Pricing / Costing aspects that need validation or approval from Senior Management.
  • Take ownership of Rate Card repository and construct rate cards as per business requirements.
  • Construct & update Trend of Key Metrics in Managed Services deals.

  • Innovate, suggest on improving process and add value as FP&A team to the business stakeholders.
  • Should possess strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Should have a strong urge to upskill himself / herself based on the ongoing technological changes.




The role will be supported with a combination onshore/offshore team, but the individual must be comfortable accessing financial data from Cognizant databases independently for ad hoc requests requiring rapid responses. The successful candidate must be able to become comfortable as a reviewer and not just a consolidator of results, and as such, must gain expertise in our data structure and systems.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $103,000-$139,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
