Job Description

Visa Corporate IT Platform Engineering team is committed to deliver new standards of excellence by providing the most reliable, responsive and resilient Platform for Corporate Applications and attain Operational Excellence byBuilding and operating a scalable, sustainable and secure platform based on the Corporate Reliability Engineering principles. Few key responsibilities include solving Complex Engineering Problems, Identifying best-of-breed applications for Business, implementing Technical solutions, Evaluate/Design/Install/Upgrade/Secure/Monitor/Maintain Application Infrastructure as per VISA standards,Troubleshooting Issues, etc. The role requires us to bring in people who have both the technical and collaboration skills and have a deep understanding of the technology deployments they will be managing.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the Visa Cybersecurity team on the Security Assessments.
  • Ensure all the security gaps identified by Visa Cybersecurity are fixed within the allotted time.
  • Must be able to remediate the security findings on the applications, databases and operating systems and provide the solution to the team.
  • Good hands-on on Linux, Windows GUI and Windows Core Operating System.
  • Advance knowledge of Shell & Powershell scripting.
  • Application Server administration hands-on experience. Must be good in at least two of the application server - Apache Tomcat, Oracle Weblogic, IBM Websphere
  • HTTP Server administration experience. Must be expereince in Nginx and at least one of the technology - Apache HTTP, Oracle HTTP.
  • Hands-on experience in any one of the database like Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, MangoDB.
  • In depth understanding of Data Replication, Clustering, High Availability, Scalablity, Reliability, etc.
  • Good understanding of network elements like Firewall, Load Balancer, Global Traffic Manager, DNS, WAF etc.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with focus on troubleshooting issues in complex production environments.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and software, thinking out of the box, questioning the norm and innovative.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
  • Experience collaborating with small to medium sized teams working in an onsite/offshore model

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Experience in setting up Single Sign on using kerberos, OAuth or SAML2.0.
  • Good knowledge in security domain involving Certificates, Ciphers, Networking Protocols.
  • Candidates with knowledge in Python, WLST scripting will be a plus.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
