The Supervisor, Data Analytics, serves a key leadership role within the organization's Market and Enterprise Risk Management function. This role is responsible for leading a team of professionals to ensure the on-time and accurate delivery of annual budget forecasts and on-going explanation of sales for Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois gas & electric volumes. This role is also responsible for the delivery of load research, weather normalization, and volume forecasting to support regulatory filings such as rate reviews and integrated resource planning. This position requires direct interaction with senior executives and directors to ensure all factors influencing load are accurately defined and represented in all deliverables.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of analytics professionals, supporting Market and Enterprise Risk, Corporate Planning and Corporate Modeling including transparent and flexible project management and alignment with business partners.
  • Oversees the team's responsibilities which include modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, identify, and analyze data. Integrating data from multiple sources to produce reports and dashboards on the general behavior of the load characteristics of customers usage/demand requirements by time-of-day, month, season, and year; consumption patterns; socio-economic and demographic influencing factors.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of processes and procedures to execute analyses and forecasts to ensure the quality and availability of information produced within the department. This includes ensuring process standardization, ensuring knowledge transfer and cross-training of employees, and appropriate reviews of information produced by assigned resources.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define and execute analytics projects that deliver insight and support the achievement of strategic business goals, and continuously develop team knowledge. Develop project timelines, communication with customers, and cascade top priority projects to team members to meet project deliverables and customer expectations.
  • Providing career counseling and mentoring to team members.
  • Leading project teams, analytics strategy development, data governance working group leadership, and other assignments as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, statistics, analytics, finance or economics) required. Advanced degree in a technical discipline such as finance/economics or business management preferred. Five or more years progressively responsible work experience, including prioritizing and managing data analytics projects to a successful conclusion (required). Two or more years of supervisory or team/project leadership required. Candidates with experience working in technical disciplines in the utilities industry preferred. In lieu of a bachelor's degree a minimum of 8 years of prioritizing and managing data analytics projects to a successful conclusion (required). Five or more years of supervisory or team/project leadership required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: A high degree of business and analytics acumen. The successful candidate must be familiar with finance/economics, regulations, technical marketing and research methodologies, descriptive statistics, predictive modeling and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean
