Candidate may be hired as Gas Training Supervisor or Senior Gas Training Supervisor depending on experience.

About The Position

The Gas Training Supervisor is responsible for providing high quality technical training and support for programs such as Operator Qualification, Gas Apprentice Training, PE Fusion Qualification and Customer Contact Center Training. Serves as an instructor in both classroom and outdoor environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, develop, deliver, coordinate and administer gas related training programs that adequately cover the knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the physical work for gas field personnel and supervisory personnel.
  • Evaluate and qualify gas field personnel to Operator Qualification standards to ensure that covered tasks are performed safely and in accordance with Company standards, policies and procedures. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate apprentices in the attainment of training goals and objectives.
  • Administer the Apprentice OJT program to track "on the job training" hours for apprentices.
  • Work with the Ameren Insight program to track employee training and qualification.
  • Ensure that Ameren Illinois Gas Operations meet or exceed the requirements of the Gas O&M Plan and Safety Standards by conducting planned field assessments and supporting Safety and Gas Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing support for the Gas Training programs in developing course content, field simulations, testing and evaluation material and conducting initial employee evaluations.
Qualifications

Associates Degree in a technical discipline or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Ten years relevant work experience in gas construction, operations and maintenance, or completion of a relevant technical trade program may be considered in lieu of a degree. Five or more years of relevant experience with gas operations required. Gas Journeyman Operator Qualification credentials preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Working knowledge of the Gas O&M Plan, Field Reference Guide, National Fuel Gas Code, DOT 192 Code and Illinois Admin Code preferred. Competency with various computer applications (i.e., Click-Mobile/Maximo, DOJM, OAS, Microsoft Office programs) preferred.
