Laboratory Assistant II

In this role, you will assist in molecular and cell biology
techniques such as cloning, PCR, DNA purification/preparation, immunoprecipitation,
gel electrophoreses, immunoblotting, and tissue culture. You will also assist with the
application of standard computer algorithms for the analysis of routine biological
data such as gene expression and proteomics data. You will also be involved with the application of standard algorithms
which implement mathematical and statistical procedures on biological data sets.

Salary range: $20.66-$24.30 Hourly

• Knowledge of
  basic genetics, molecular biology and biochemical principles.
• Knowledge of
  mathematics, statistics and computation related to biological data analysis
• Ability to
  use basic laboratory equipment, including balance, centrifuge, pH meter, PCR
  machine, etc.
• Basic
  computer scripting skills including knowledge of at least one of the
  following scripting languages: Perl, R, Unix scripting
• Dependability and accuracy in tasks assigned. Ability to create and maintain
  records accurately, and to annotate executed analysis.
• Ability to
  communicate effectively to convey results.
