Overview

As a Principal DevOps Engineer (Remote), you play an important role at TDS Telecom as we grow our Salesforce capabilities. We are looking for an individual who will help design, develop, and test Salesforce functionality and apply the principals of continuous improvement to our Salesforce DevOps processes to deliver exceptional business units. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams to harden our Salesforce delivery pipeline, enabling frequent and dependable releases. Excellent collaboration skills, dependability and professionalism are key traits that are required to be successful in this position.

You will work independently or lead teams of 5 or more people responsible for application design, development, testing, and problem resolution work teams with significant autonomy and independence. The scope of work typically includes major system projects that cross functional boundaries and support company-wide mission-critical business operations. As an experienced developer and an experienced technical leader, this position provides mentoring and guidance to the other members of the team. You will represent management in project team meetings, daily operations reviews and applicant interviews. You may also provide supervisory coverage while the team manager is out of the office.

Applications used may include custom developed software, commercial packaged software, or open-source software. Software may consist of on-premise applications, cloud-based software, and services, hybrid configurations, integration tools, or business workflow tools.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ states in which TDS operates.

Responsibilities

    Integrations: Help build new and support existing integrations leveraging Salesforce APIs
  • Develop Apex classes and triggers
  • User interface development: Lightning pages and Lightning Web Components
  • Deploy new and updated functionality to Salesforce environments
  • Work with product owners throughout the entire development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to build cross functional features
  • Help drive technical direction and best practices across Salesforce environments
  • Collaborate across teams to establish organizational standards for Salesforce development, testing, and delivery practices
  • Mentor and train team members on best practices, coding, and quality standards for development and testing on the Salesforce platform.
  • Debug functional differences between Salesforce sandbox environments and use lessons learned to drive process improvements for post refresh and deployment processes.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 6+ years experience in software development or testing.

Other Qualifications

  • Salesforce Sales, Service, and Marketing, or Field Service cloud experience
  • Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer certifications
  • Experience with Copado or similar Salesforce DevOps platform
  • Salesforce Vlocity/SFI development and deployment experience
