General Description of Position:

In collaboration with and under the supervision of the project Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for successfully assisting and implementing Ivy Tech's US Department of Labor Apprenticeships: Closing the Skills Gap grant program. The Project Manager will manage the work and relationship with key partners, including Ivy Tech Campuses, a statewide industry advisory committee, and ensuring the program curriculum has Industry 4.0 certifications embedded.

This is a grant-funded position. There is no guarantee of employment beyond the grant period, which ends February 29, 2024.


Major Responsibilities:

Work with the Project Director in maintaining and improving all grant-related activities, metrics and initiatives on a statewide level and provide assistance to participating Ivy Tech campuses.

Lead the data collection, and entry into the database/spreadsheet as required by the grant agreement.

Use problem solving skills to analyze data collection, input & outcomes.

Provide clear, consistent communication on a frequent basis to Ivy Tech staff and faculty about the progress of the grant-funded initiatives as directed.

Prepare and maintain technically relevant materials for potential program audits and site visits.

Meet with Systems Office Grants Management to review grant spending and activities in adherence to Department of Labor regulations.

Travel to Ivy Tech campuses and to meetings with external partners, as possible. Utilize virtual meeting technology as appropriate to conduct meetings.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.


Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree

Two years of related experience in higher education, advanced manufacturing, curriculum development, apprenticeship programming, or a related activity or one year with a Bachelor's degree.

Experience with data base management, spreadsheets & data collection & entry is required.

Strong problem skills are essential.

Outreach to industry to identify apprenticeship opportunities and outreach to industry to develop apprenticeship and training programs.

Knowledge and experience in grant management is preferred.

Implementation of strategic initiatives at a system level is required.

Must be able to process and respond quickly, efficiently and thoroughly to a large variety of information requests in a positive and personal manner.

Must be able to effectively communicate and operate as a positive team leader and member.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating considerable patience and diplomacy is required.

Must possess ability to handle difficult situations and reach positive solutions and work on own initiative.

Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical skills required.

Experience with spreadsheet software is required.

Must have the ability and willingness to travel.
