Senior Actuarial Analyst - ALDP - Remote

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Regulatory Filings - prepare small and large group rate filings, Mental Health Parity filings, and secure approvals
  • Pricing Analysis - perform periodic analysis of the projected experience by line of business, and suggest appropriate pricing strategies to Health Plan
  • Rate Implementation - update and maintain the rating systems for both small group and large group
  • Product Pricing - perform pricing of new products and/or plan designs using the company's proprietary medical and pharmacy benefit pricing tools
  • Competitive Analysis - gather and analyze rate and plan information for primary competitors
  • Large Group - support the growth of large group by providing timely financial outlook
  • Communication - able to interact with state's regulators and matrix partners, and represent actuarial effectively

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree
  • 1+ years of actuarial healthcare experience
  • Experience communicating technical information to matrix partners (Finance, Business)
  • Proficient in MS Excel


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience with ACA pricing and rate filling
  • Experience in engaging with external clients (DOI)
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with SAS
  • Good communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
