CO Genetic Counselor The Department of Genetic Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Genetic Counselor to perform a combined research (75% effort) and clinical (25% effort) Genetic Counseling position with option to flex effort between research and clinical work as allowed per funding. Must be willing to work within Pediatric/Adult General Genetics Clinics and support cancer genetics research. Particular interest in and experience with evidence-based research to describe new disease patterns and establish guidelines for Genetic Counseling. Specific Duties & Responsibilities: The counselor's responsibilities will include the following duties; note that this list is not exhaustive and may be somewhat flexible after 1-2 years on the job depending on the experience and interest of the hired candidate: Research (75%) - Supported by Dr. Mary Armanios in the Department of Oncology
Clinical (25%) - Supported by the Department of Genetic Medicine (DGM), Center for Genetic Counseling

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
