Term Assistant Professor, Computational Data Science

The George Mason University, Department of Computational and Data Sciences ( CDS) in the College of Science invites applications for a full-time, term faculty position at the Term Assistant Professor level. This is a term position and not eligible for tenure. About the Position:

Starting in August 2023, the individual serving in this position will be responsible for teaching four courses per semester, maintaining the design of a multi-section undergraduate course, and contribute to the university through service. Teaching responsibilities will include both in-person and on-line modalities. Service to the university will include responsibilities to the department, the college, and/ or the university. While this position does not include research responsibilities, candidates are able to conduct research and lead research projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a masters degree in Data Science or Computational Science.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Applicants with previous course development experience are preferred.
About the Department:

CDS is an interdisciplinary department with major research directions in Modeling and Simulation, Data Science, and Computational Social Science. The successful candidate would benefit from a highly collaborative environment in a rapidly growing department.
