The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. The Department of Kinesiology has 26 full-time faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. programs in the academic areas of athletic training, exercise and sport science, health and physical education, and sport management and policy. Department faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their scholarly accomplishments and teaching excellence. The Department has exceptional facilities in the Ramsey Center located on the main campus in Athens, Georgia.

Regular workday schedule is expected. Weekend hours may be required depending on research schedule. Flexibility of other weekday hours is allowed in those situations.

The Clinical Research Professional will contribute to a project on building a stroke clinical research network. The appointment will be for 1-year with the opportunity for renewal. The position is covered by full University of Georgia staff benefits. The Clinical Research Professional will work in a highly inter-disciplinary and collaborative environment across multiple institutions (University of Georgia, Emory University, and various Athens local hospitals/clinics/community administrations), including scientists and engineers, clinicians, therapists and other medical professionals. Duties include but are not limited to spearheading the implementation of a stroke patient recruitment network, coordinating faculty and staff in the project team at UGA and Emory sites, visiting/communicating with local partners, including hospitals, clinics, retirement communities, assisting with organizing outreach events, and screening identified patients, building and maintaining patient records, a research participant registry and database. Other duties may include preparing for IRB submissions, administrating behavioral and neurophysiological testing, etc.
