Overview: Our client, a well-known & established engineering consultancy firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all phases of the project, from feasibility to design development to developing bids to seeing the project through the construction phase. This person will have the option to work remotely or in an office. This is a long-term, direct-hire role with our client based in the New England area. A few of the perks:

Responsibilities:
- Work on the design & management of hydroelectric & fisheries-related facilities
- Incorporate mechanical engineering skills into multidisciplinary projects
- Apply engineering skills from analysis & design through to construction
- Manage long-term client relationships
- Experience with systems design (compressed air, cooling, water, HVAC, gates, valve, turbines or similar) required
- Partner with vendors to procure what is needed for projects
- Experience with producing contract drawing packages and finite modeling
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously as a member of multidisciplinary project teams
- Mentor junior-level staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- PE License required
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering required, 8+ years is preferred
- Knowledge of codes & standards applicable to mechanical engineering (e.g., ASME, ASHRAE, International Building Code and Energy Code) required
- Experience using AutoCAD required, experience using AutoCAD MEP and SolidWorks is preferred
- Experience with systems design (compressed air, cooling, water, HVAC, gates, valve, turbines or similar) required
- Experience working with vendors to procure what is needed for the project is required
- Experience with finite modeling is required
- Experience with producing contract drawing packages required
- Experience in machine design, specifically hydroelectric turbines and generator design and rehabilitation is preferred
- Hydroelectric experience is desired
- Willingness to be a project manager is required, project management experience is preferred
- Ability to build long-term relationships with clients
- Willingness & ability to mentor junior-level staff
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Travel to site visits involved (maybe 1 to 2 days: once or twice a month)
