Assistant Professor of Sociology (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Sociology, Criminology and Human Services at Hartwick College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2023. ABDs will be considered but are expected to have earned their Ph.D. by the time of appointment.

We seek anAssistantProfessor of Sociology with expertise in quantitative research. Candidates are especially encouraged to applywhose research and teaching interests include criminal justice, gender, family, social work, or human services.

Ability to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduate students is essential.The hired candidate will be expected to teach core courses, including quantitative research methods and introductory courses, courses at the 200- and 300-level in their area of expertise, and courses that contribute to the College's interdisciplinary program.Additional responsibilities include service activities at the College.The position involves an in-person teaching load of 20-credits per year, typically equating to six courses per academic year.
