Polysomnographer - Sleep Laboratory

Description

The Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) works under the supervision of the Sleep Disorders Center Manager, and Lead Polysomnographic Technologist. The PSGT works independently during the day or night and conducts polysomnographic testing. The PSGT safely operates sophisticated medical equipment used to record sleep/wake physiology, explains procedures, prepares patients and applies recording devices. The PSGT monitors polygraph recordings, audio/visual equipment to ensure patient safety, test quality, sleep/wake data and other physiological events. The PSGT may work during the day and is responsible for assisting Lead Polysomnographic Technologist in scoring the sleep studies and preparing them for interpretation by staff physicians.

Required Qualifications:



  • Certificate of Achievement in Polysomnography.
  • California Polysom Technologist License upon hire.
  • National Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists upon hire or National Certified Polysomnographic Technician - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 1 year of experience working full-time as a polysomnographic technologist or current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Membership in California Sleep Society (CSS) upon hire.
