Job Description:

Position Overview
Prepares machine body by cutting, trimming, grinding, fabricating and ultimately welding components.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Join together metal components or fabricated assemblies
* Cut, trim, or grind metal objects to dimensions per layout, work order, or blueprints
* Operate plasma cutter & oxy/acetylene torch
* Operate hand grinder, power tools, saw, & ironworker
* Operate welding machine and carbon arc machine
* Set-up and fit-up components
* Build fabrications to blueprints holding tolerances
* Perform finish welding
* Operate machinery including a vertical bandsaw, punch press and Bridgeport
* Ability to work independently
* Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
* 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
* Working knowledge of welding techniques
* Knowledge of materials & welding wires
* Basic mathematical skills
* Parts preparation skills
* Blueprint reading
* Rigging/hoisting operations
* Forklift experience
* Stick, gas, mig welding experience
* Familiarization with respiratory equipment
* Able to wear a powered-air purifying respirator (PAPR) without restrictions and performing work duties while wearing respirator
Preferred Qualifications
* High school graduate/GED or equivalent
* Certified for structural welding
* Aluminum welding experience
