Job Summary

Provide professional sourcing services for Emergent end users and production planning to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality goods and services. Supports company goals by developing and improving procurement methods while safeguarding the integrity of the procurement process.

Essential Functions

  • Source and manage the procurement of assigned services, raw materials and consumables for the site, including purchase order creation in SAP
  • Investigate and resolve Supplier material related quality issues and source alternative materials as necessary
  • Assist end-users and Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing issues as directed.
  • Create/Review Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote for materials or services
  • Participate in supplier consolidation, cost reduction and inventory reduction programs
  • Negotiate, create, and manage contracts with key suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and pricing on the procurement of goods and services as assigned
  • Serve on inter-departmental cross functional teams to assess material suitability for use, evaluating materials of construction, specifications, ensuring smooth acquisition and movement of materials through the facility, etc.
  • Assist the Quality Department with the establishment of new suppliers / manufacturers as well as ongoing audit requirements in accordance with Approved Supplier requirements
  • Lead the procurement efforts to support new manufacturing opportunities with Business Development
  • Assist with the establishment and management of the Supplier On-Board process as well as KPI's for ongoing supplier performance.

    • Attend the annual review with key suppliers - reviewing supplier reliability, risk mitigation, financial stability, capacity, etc.


  • Complete market assessments to proactively identify cost improvement opportunities
  • Generate open purchase order reports for purposes of tracking and expediting
  • Provide necessary information to maintain accurate master data for materials and suppliers
  • Participate in creation / revision of Sourcing and Procurement related Standard Operating Procedures and processes
  • Process change controls and deviations as required

Education, Experience, & Skills




  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of Procurement or Supply Chain experience
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent Analytical skills required
  • Must be detail oriented



Preferred Requirements



  • Prior Biopharmaceutical experience
  • SAP experience
  • Ariba experience
