Enterprise Voice Engineering Manager (REMOTE)

GEICO's Technology Solutions team is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager. An Engineering Manager works with engineers to innovate and build new engineering solutions, improve and enhance existing solutions, and identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems. An Engineering Manager will lead Strategy and Execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities.

Preferred Experience:

  • 7 + years of Core Voice Unified Contact Center Enterprise experience or 3 years of AWS Connect experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
  • Proven experience in building the architecture and design (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of Cisco or AWS systems
  • Hands on experience in designing and building solutions for voice, contact center applications on Cisco or AWS platforms
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and concepts (Saas, Paas, IaaS, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting, operation portals (e.g., the AWS Management Portal), and monitoring portals (e.g., CloudWatch, DynaTrace, ThousandEyes, Splunk).
  • Proven ability to focus and demonstrate aptitude for learning technical concepts and quickly adapting to new technologies

Position Requirements:

  • Strong cloud (Azure, AWS Cloud, etc.) platform knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of software and application design and architecture
  • A strong understanding of the CI/CD pipeline, including the implementation of data as code
  • Architect, design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement cloud solutions across a hybrid cloud platform (COTS).
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with security and network teams. working knowledge of secure practices (PII, PCI).
  • Experience with Unified Communications Manager, Unified Contact Center Enterprise, and in-depth knowledge of Cisco Voice Portal.
  • Experience with Amazon Connect and AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Lex, X-Ray, Databases (e.g. DynamoDB, RDS), S3, CloudWatch, Step Functions, AWS SDK
  • Deep understanding of Enterprise Voice Technology and data center stacks, to include Compute, Storage, Security, and Network environments
  • Oversee a 24x7 support team for mission critical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Follow Tech Departments Agile principles
  • Work with your Sr Manager and Director to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate delivery dates with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on time
  • Identify and raise appropriate project risks, in addition to presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives
  • Understand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areas
  • Focus on both cost leadership and customer experience
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
  • Analyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plans
  • Accountable for the quality, usability & performance of the solutions

Associate/Team Development

  • Initiate and support performance evaluation of team members
  • Identify where technical or analytical skill gaps put future team deliverables at risk and craft a plan to remediate
  • Challenge team members to share knowledge and learn new technologies
  • Provide SMART Goals following MAP guidelines
  • Write accurate, timely Performance Appraisals
  • Encourage continuous learning to build a strong team as well as strong individuals with a focus on consistently sharpening their skills
  • Be a role model and mentor, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community; Influence and educate executives

Education Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Cisco/AWS Certifications as specified

Annual Salary

$100,000.00 - $236,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
