Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for Principal IP Engineerto join our growing team! This position will report directly to the Director, Operations - Support & Technology.

As Principal IPEngineer, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • ProduceLow Level Design (LLD) with deployment, commissioning, & configuration guidelines
  • Establishprovisioning rules & flows, data collection, alarming, planning & deployment guidelines & rules, racking/stacking, physical layout design
  • Inventory modeling and management, security considerations, & design/testing requirements
  • ProduceMethod of Procedure (MOP) to implement or modify devices in production
  • Identify design and software versions for deployment to network
  • Manageinitial trial phases from Network Readiness Testing (NRT) to Operationally Accepted (OA) or Generally Available (GA)
  • Perform testing activities as needed
  • Ensure operational readiness before handoff to Operations Teams (Service Management and/or Planning)
  • Serveas Tier IV support to the various Operational teams and will own the resolution of systemic issues with the appropriate equipment vendors
  • Partnerwith vendors to evaluate and mitigates security issues. Responds to Security Incident Response Ticket (SIRT)
  • Responsible for after-hours support requests from Service Assurance (SA) Tier 3 organizations during significant network events
  • Gate two for Special Product Customer Request (SPCR) order submission exception handling process
  • Participatein weekly SPCR meetings for Security, IP/VPN/MNS, and SD-WAN
  • Design, test, and write documentation for SPRC & store in a central location
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • 10+ years of experience in software and operations engineering with at least 5 years of leadership experience
  • 15+ years of experience in telecom domain, product, and services
  • 10+ years of design and development in the OSS/BSS space around Order Management, provisioning and activation for Consumer portfolio
  • Highly skillful in system architecture, designs, specifications, system testing and system users training and adoption in PON service provisioning, design, and configuration
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in customer sales functions like product catalog, buy flows, credit check, address validation and pricing
  • Experience with one of the major cloud providers GCP and Azure
  • Experience leading software development lifecycle including concept, design, prototyping, integration, testing, and production release
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and participate in discussions focusing on best practices, user experience, functional requirements, and team dynamics
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to prioritize the key business programs by collaborating with business partners
