Summary

The responsibility of the ISO50001 Energy Specialist is to establish and maintain an effective Energy Management System for VW Chattanooga manufacturing plant. This role will collaborate, train, and audit the energy consuming departments of the plant. The role is also responsible for tracking process costs and availability of energy and media supply, as well as budgeting, monitoring and controlling energy consumption (Electricity, Natural Gas, Compressed air, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Establish accountability for energy consumption at every level in the organization.
  • Assist in the development of energy policies and procedures for the company.
  • Maintain the ISO50001 Energy Management system as part of the overall Environmental Compliance Management system.
  • Responsible to coordinate the internal and external ISO50001 audits.
  • Perform energy audits to identify energy wastes and ensure compliance with energy procedures.Reporting of audit findings to management and tracking corrective action completion.
  • Provide support and guidance to production departments related to Energy Management.
  • Lead the Energy Team in performing an annual energy review.
  • Prepare reporting related to energy consumption at the site and departmental levels.
  • Establish energy standards/specification for the purchase of new equipment.
  • Support commissioning of new energy consuming equipment to ensure that metering and controls are in place.
  • Identify training opportunities and train department energy ambassadors in the Energy Management program.
  • Verify accuracy, calibration and recertification of utility flow meters.
  • Verify utility invoices and initiate payment process.
  • Evaluate site energy grid and implement metering improvements.
  • Support the continuous improvement environment to develop best in class energy management program.
  • Determine and review energy projects for energy efficiency and report energy savings to management.
  • Relevant KPIs this position is responsible for:
  • Annual Electricity Usage 120,000 MWh/yr
  • Annual Natural Gas Usage 96,000 MWh/y

Qualifications

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of related job experience - monitoring and analyzing energy consumption
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Audit Experience



Preferred



  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • ISO Implementation Experience, particularly 50001
  • Schneider Power Monitoring Expert Experience
  • Power metering implementation, Siemens & Schneider Electric.
