The Role

Our Sustainability Practice is our newest capability group within Cognizant Consulting. We're thrilled to launch this newly defined team, and we're looking for leaders to help us shape, lead, and grow this vital practice.

We support clients through the strategic, market, regulatory, organizational, investor, and societal pressures triggered by complex sustainability drivers. We leverage industry, digital, technology, and business consulting knowledge to define and implement commercially transformative sustainability strategies for our clients, embedding sustainability across their enterprises and value chains. We're looking for a Senior Director to help us bring consulting-led change across a vast client landscape with the imperative, appetite and stakeholder mandate for transformation and leadership.

As a Senior Director in our practice, you'll need the right experience, the right mindset, and the right connections. We're looking for someone who has industry experience in one of the following: A) Manufacturing, Logistics, Energy, Utilities and Life Sciences, B) Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel and Hospitality, or C) Banking and Financial Services. A Senior Director must be both a consulting leader in Sustainability as well as a partner to our clients and Industry leaders. We're looking for someone who has deep industry expertise, develops intimate, trust-based client relationships and demonstrates commitment to their success, that can build and sell advisory services and can lead teams of consultants delivering technology and digital projects to generate outcomes that truly change the world. Responsibilities



  • Serve as a Consulting Leader, bringing Sustainability expertise to Cognizant's clients, as we engineer modern businesses to improve everyday life
  • Own and develop a book of business and actively engage in business development efforts, often owning quota for accounts, and ensuring profitable growth for the practice and for Cognizant
  • Partner with internal Industry groups to drive adoption of Cognizant solutions to the sectors
  • Exercise quality assurance for engagements within Sustainability Advisory
  • Engage in key account expansion, sales leadership, and internal executive stakeholder partnering based upon an expert understanding of such things as emerging market trends, client business direction, client requirements, evolving regulatory contexts and the feasibility of transformation goals
  • Establish and nurture relationships with cross-functional client executives and strive to serve as their trusted advisor
  • Leverage industry expertise and market sensibilities to propose forward-leaning refinement or extension of Cognizant's Sustainability practice 'Advisory Capabilities' (offerings)
  • Support and develop a long-term vision for the practice
  • Work with others to standardize consulting tools, methods, curricula, and career development requirements
  • Partner with recruitment to attract high caliber consulting talent and the creation of a strong talent pipeline
  • Mentor and coach consulting associates; lead people development and community-building activities
  • Author thought leadership insights on behalf of the practice and advocates within Cognizant for the recognition of Consulting's contribution to Cognizant's profitability and market brand
  • Participate in industry panels and forums to promote Cognizant's capabilities; gather insights on emerging business needs, requirements, technology, and competitive challenges
  • Lead in the creation of robust IP repositories and knowledge-sharing strategies to enhance practice effectiveness and cross-practice community building and act as a visible and respected spokesperson for the Sustainability Advisory Practice.


Qualifications



  • 15 - 20+ years of experience in deep domain or extensive cross-sector business management, including the creation and go-to-market execution of practice offers (pricing, resourcing, marketing) in Sustainability and demonstrable experience in leveraging digital technologies for client outcomes
  • A successful track record of developing relationships and selling, managing forecasts, and driving an organization of professional consultants in winning and delivering business and achieving financial targets
  • Possessing a robust network of contacts and presence in professional organizations and industry forums
  • Experience in building results-oriented, high-performing consulting teams or organizations recognized for excellence
  • An educational background to support the above; Bachelor's degree required; MBA Preferred

Work Authorization



  • Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)


Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $209,326 - 240,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
