Project Engineer (Electrical Engineer)

Job Summary

For this role we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Feeder Automation Power Hardware Product Engineering team. You will be responsible analysis and report writing for returned customer materials, support of the Production Operations team building S&C's IntelliRupter and SCADA-Mate products, identification and implementation of cost and reliability improvements and ongoing feature enhancements for the products we support.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Collaborate with other Engineers to design new parts and assemblies
  • Evaluate and provide detailed, written engineering reports on returned products
  • Use problem-solving techniques to address quality and reliability issues
  • Develop and implement project plans, which include test plans and project schedules
  • Develop test methods, both electrical and mechanical, and work with laboratory team members to perform tests
  • Interpret, analyze, and summarize data, identify trends, prepare reports, and formulate conclusions


To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:



  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of product support, design, and development experience.
  • Basic understanding of power systems preferred.
  • Good electrical/mechanical aptitude to be able to aid in the design of electromechanical systems.
  • Good communication skills, written and spoken, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and organization skills to work with team members at all levels across the organization.
  • Good PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.


MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS



  • Standing: Occasional, during testing or support of Production Operations.
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting, infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking: Occasional walking within/between company facilities.
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of light objects for short distances.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Regular pushing or pulling of returned materials on assembly carts during analysis and test.
  • Bending: Occasional bending during analysis and test.
  • Reaching: Occasional reaching during analysis and test.
