Responsibilities

Under the direction of Security Manager, the incumbent is responsible for promoting an outgoing, friendly, customer oriented personality at all times. Directs the activities of Security Officers, Command Console Operators and Security Officer/Medical Response Technicians in assigned zones of responsibility in accordance with the company and departmental policies and procedures. Acts to protect and safeguard assets of patrons, employees and the company. Schedules and coordinates security activities. Duties include, but not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

    Conducts themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and Seminole Tribe of /departmental policies and procedures.
  • Conducts inquiries alleged instances of negligence or misconduct. Coordinates activities with local and state law enforcement officials.
  • Prepares detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
  • Reviews all incident reports for accuracy submitted by Security Officers.
  • Directs and delegates responsibilities to the Security Officers.
  • Communicates all policy changes, memorandums, and special events on a daily basis.
  • Communicates with guests and other employees in a positive manner, both in oral and written forms.
  • Evaluates his/her subordinates' performance.
  • Coordinates emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year of job-related Security experience required in a high volume casino/hotel complex environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Security experience may be substituted with law enforcement experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to effectively direct vehicular traffic in parking lots/garages and entrances/exits.
  • Excellent time management skills required.
  • Must be able to read technical manuals and to speak to general public and/or groups of individuals.
  • Strong computer skills are required along with the ability to wear a radio earphone without any medical limitations.
  • Must be able to work in a professional office environment, as well as on a Casino Floor with constant exposure to general public and smoke.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.

As part of Seminole Gaming's employment process, final candidates will be required to obtain gaming licensure by completing a background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations, prior to an offer being extended. These background checks may include, but are not limited to:
