  • Position Summary

    • Provide leadership of Supply Chain Management activities for a manufacturing location. These activities will include all material handling disciplines inclusive of receiving, stock transfer, stock control and management, shipping etc; information flow and asset management.
    • Work with suppliers, business unit managers, purchasing, production planners, IT and other appropriate resources to manage the flow of materials throughout the material handling processes.
    • Provides direct leadership and management of the Material Handling function.
    • Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

    Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all materials management activities including receiving, material transfer, stockroom and associated fulfilment activities, shipping including OE, spares, R&O and OSP.

  • These activities support on time delivery to the customer, starts on time in the Value Stream cells, and offload operations to outside process vendors and sub-contract suppliers. Collectively the execution of this activity supports sales and ACIP objectives and maintain 100% on-time customer deliveries.

  • Maintain TIB boards, metrics and goals to support the objectives of the department and the Division.

  • Develop Standard Work across each of the sub-teams, drive execution and ensure compliance.

  • Help define, develop and implement process improvement activities across the Material Handling team, to ensure daily metrics are achieved and the overall performance of the team.

  • Ensure all the location/division's material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation.

  • Facilitate an efficient and effective layout of each area, that is optimized for flow, visibility, safety.

  • Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the inventory control functions.

  • Prepare and manage department budget within established guidelines.

  • Provide professional development for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.

  • Actively support and implement lean principles.
  • Education and Experience

    • Education and experience at a professional level typically acquired through a B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline or equivalent, and four or more years of directly related experience and demonstrated ability to perform in the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
    • Substantial practical knowledge and understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support, including applicable information systems and reports (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems). General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.g. manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety).
    • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $107,368 annually - $187,953 annually.

    This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders], or have refugee or asylee status).
