Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Non-Invasive Clinical Coordinator, the primary function of the exercise physiologist will assist the EP-2 in providing professional care for patients undergoing non-invasive cardiac testing. The position utilizes the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care. This includes but is not limited to ETT with or without nuclear imaging, Pharmacologic imaging, and Stress Echocardiography. The EP-1 will also perform the application of Cardiac Monitoring and EKGs as well as other administrative work associated with the non-invasive cardiology dept.

  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in recognizing and identifying potential and actual patent problems, collecting accurate data, and participating in the patient's pre-procedure screening and patient prep by the department/unit standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac A & P, with the specific conditions, diseases (CAD), and treatment therapies arrhythmia recognition and 12 lead interpretation as well as an understanding of cardiac pharmacology for the specific patient populations of the Department. Must be able to perform BP and blood glucose monitoring
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competency to perform Non-invasive cardiac procedures.

Requirements:
  • Required: BLS
  • Preferred: ACLS, Bachelors degree in Clinical Exercise Field. Registered EP certification (ACSM)
  • Knowledge of advanced dysrhythmia, 12 lead EKG, and other monitoring such EM, and Holter monitoring
  • CCT certification after 1 year as EP1
  • Preferred Minimum 1-year experience in non-invasive cardiology technology
  • May advance to EP2
