Atrium Health in conjunction with Wake Forest School of Medicine in Charlotte, the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at Atrium Health's Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute (SHVI) is seeking a cardiac surgeon with academic orientation to serve as Surgical Director of the Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program. Responsibilities of the Surgical Director will include oversight of all aspects of surgical care within the Program; leadership of all programmatic initiatives (in conjunction with the Programs' Medical Director); direction of academic and research pursuits related to heart transplantation/mechanical circulatory support; and instruction of medical students and trainees. Academic appointment within the Wake Forest School of Medicine will be awarded, with rank commensurate with academic achievement. Qualifications:
