Job Responsibilities

Do you enjoy taking equipment apart and then putting it together again or fixing equipment when it isn't working correctly? You will utilize your inner-tinkerer putting together mechanical assemblies for ViaSat, including large antennas, using light equipment and tooling. Working as part of a bigger team within our Manufacturing area, your sense of teamwork will draw you into additional duties, including moving equipment and integrating assemblies into our bigger systems. If you can learn the job, we'll train you to do it, and do it right, from documentation to following processes and procedures!

This position will be a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen to participate in our FAA Drug and Alcohol prevention program.

Requirements
  • 2+ years experience in basic mechanical assembly (mechanical tools, drills, and impact tools, professional or personal)
  • Ability to follow instructions and read fabrication drawings
  • Ability to drive and operate a forklift, given proper training and instruction
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights up to 100 feet
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • US government position. US Citizenship is required.
  • Up to 10% domestic travel.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

This is an FAA safety sensitive position, which requires participation in our Drug-Alcohol program, including pre-employment testing and random testing. It is an essential function of the position that the employee meets the safety requirements of the FAA.
At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $43300 to $68850 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
