Summary Maine Medical Partners is seeking a full-time board certified or board eligible adolescent medicine physician to join the enthusiastic and growing Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Maine Medical Center. Start date is flexible. Primary discipline could be from pediatrics, family medicine, medicine-pediatrics, or internal medicine. Duties will be at Maine Medical Partners well established outpatient practices in South Portland, and may include inpatient and outpatient medicine for both primary and consultative care. Referrals will come from the Greater Portland Area and the State of Maine. The selected candidate will be practicing mostly with 10-26 year olds. There may be shared call with the adolescent division or the individual's primary discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with experience treating substance use, mental health, eating disorders, contraception, gender health, sports medicine, and/or gynecology issues. Existing training and/or certification with contraceptive devices (IUD's, Nexplanon rods), Suboxone licensure, and gender hormones is expected. Preference will also be given to those with established interest in teaching, research, community outreach, and/or advocacy. We value and encourage pursuit of scholarly activities. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
