Electrical Engineer - DER

Knoxville Utilities Board in Knoxville, TN, seeks Electrical Engineer - DER to provide electrical engineering / power systems expertise to advance efforts to modernize our electric system and explore future distributed energy resources. Requires Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering + two years of full time, post degree experience in the field of power systems, one year of which must include professional experience as a power systems engineer with an electric utility. Experience must include working within the distributed energy resource sector (including solar PV and utility scale battery energy storage); analyzing waveform recordings for advanced power quality analysis; working within batteries and energy storage certifications and compliance standards; applying battery storage engineering standards, policies and procedures; preparing technical reports; conducting / presenting research in the area of power systems. Also required is technical knowledge of battery energy storage components, alternative energy solutions, solar PV generation and system impacts, and power system modeling software solutions (e.g. Cyme, eTap, Milsoft, PSS-E).
