General Summary:

The Repair Station Quality Inspector performs Repair Station program requirements for quality, maintenance and related technical disciplines to company and FAA standards. The position will execute all aspects of Aircraft Return to Service (RTS) inspections and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that customer aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required documentation properly completed and filed. This position performs final inspections and verifies completion of maintenance tasks, performs AD research and monitors aircraft logbook entries and related documentation for accuracy and thoroughness of maintenance or modifications performed under Honda Aircraft Company's repair station certificate. The inspector responds to internal and external customer requests and inquiries related to aircraft maintenance, inspection, interpretation of regulatory compliance issues and documentation requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform aircraft RTS inspection activities and aircraft maintenance release documentation
  • Completes documentation review of aircraft, engine, and component records of repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data
  • Reviews on-going and final revisions and entries to FAA required aircraft logbooks and other necessary aircraft related documentation to accurately record maintenance or modifications performed under the Repair Station certificate
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with Maintenance and Inspection to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner
  • Updates CAMP and program management with aircraft maintenance program data and time/cycle documentation
  • Mentors technicians on effective documentation of maintenance sign offs and Aircraft Log Book entries
  • Continually monitors repair station compliance with CFR Part 145 regulations and the FAA approved/accepted Repair Station Manuals
  • Coordinate 135 Operator RII training for maintenance and ensure incorporation of 135 Operator requirements and performs RII inspections as needed
  • Coordinate with affiliated Honda 135 Operators regarding required GOM and GMM training requirements
  • Responds to internal and external customers' requests and inquiries related to aircraft maintenance, inspection, interpretation of regulatory compliance issues, and documentation requirements

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:



  • Airframe and Powerplant License required
  • A minimum of 18 months practical experience on general aviation aircraft
  • Honda Aircraft HA-420 experience preferred
  • A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred
  • Experience within an AS 9110 Quality System preferred
  • Previous quality experience in an aerospace environment preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong technical writing and communications skills
  • Knowledge of computer training data bases and associated computer products, and Product generation, preferred
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Must have computer skills necessary to work in Windows based office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring and inspection equipment (calipers, Micrometers, Borescope)


Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft
  • May be exposed to fumes, hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft
