Who We Are Looking For:

The Sr. Marketing Communications Manager, reporting to the Director of Marketing, can be based out of either Atkore's global headquarters in Harvey, IL (approx. 30 miles from Downtown Chicago), or another of our corporate offices in Pittsburgh, Dallas, or Philadelphia. This individual be a key contributor on the Corporate Marketing team, will lead the Marketing Communications function, and will work with assigned business units to develop and execute marketing communication programs, collateral, and events that support strategic marketing initiatives. Key aspects of this multifaceted role include critical interpretation of business needs into marketing plans, project management, creative thinking, problem solving, vendor management, content creation, and new product commercialization. This position works closely with key business stakeholders, engineers, and outside vendors, which requires strong relationship building and negotiation capabilities. A proven ability to balance wide bandwidth and project depth is needed.

What You'll Do:



  • Work closely with senior business leaders across Atkore to develop annual marketing plans that align with strategic business and functional needs.
  • Implement a vision for Corporate Marketing Communications that prioritizes product-orientation as well as creating content and standard processes for executing marketing plans.
  • Proactively manage vendor relationships with effective project management, negotiations, and contract development.
  • Author and edit content to promote Atkore products, markets, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the Corporate Marketing Communications budget.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Website Administration and Graphic Design functions and leaders.
  • Work globally with commercial leaders on international marketing needs.


What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant discipline required.
  • 7-10 years of experience developing and executing communications strategies, programs, content, and events that support Business Unit and Corporate marketing objectives.
  • Experiencing leading a creative team of customer and product-oriented marketing professionals.
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Experience as a thought leader, influencer and change agent in a corporate environment, preferably for a manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry and/or a demonstrable student mentality when it comes to learning new products.


Within 3 Months, You'll:



  • Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role and have embraced Atkore's culture and business system.
  • Know your peers and have built relationships with key stakeholders. More importantly, you'll be living our values as well as how to navigate the Atkore Business System.
  • Have started to crystallize your vision for Atkore's Corporate Marketing Communications strategy and how the team aligns with business leaders and the Atkore Business System to drive output, success and continued growth.


Within 6 Months, You'll:



  • Be executing the marketing plans developed for Atkore's Strategic Business Units.
  • Have established standard processes, objectives and key performance indicators for Atkore's Marketing Communications function.


Within 12 Months, You'll:



  • Have established the Marketing Communications team as a content creating machine that is perceived as a center of excellence for marketing communications.
  • Have a reputation across Atkore as a collaborative, reliable, and results-driven leader.
