Staff Research Associate I - Chemical Biology of Cardiometabolic Disease Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology Full Time 71126BR Job Summary The Chorba Lab seeks a highly motivated Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) to work as a research technician. Our research efforts are focused on identifying and validating drug targets and developing novel therapeutic strategies to treat cardiovascular disease, particularly on regulators of lipid metabolism and cholesterol. We probe the molecular mechanisms of how key players in these pathways interact, and how their dysregulation leads to disease. Our work bridges the interface of chemistry and biology, where we develop cutting-edge chemical, biochemical, and genetic tools to pursue our inquiries. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range. The cardiology division at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) has a highly successful program in research and discovery. Much of this research is funded through highly competitive peer-reviewed grants, primarily from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
