POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads a team of scientific consultants focused on delivering a variety of strategic services, to include health economics, outcomes research, and/or market research. Works with senior management to develop and implement strategies and tactics that will lead to growth in both the scientific service offerings and the overall business. A specific focus is on the development on a Consulting Services wide offering on Real World Evidence (RWE). This includes the development of a Go-to market strategy bringing from CRO-type services to Consulting.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, conducts and directs and leads the development and execution of large books of business (services).

  • Provides final oversight and review of complex projects.

  • May represent the organization in outside discussions and technical forums. Serves as senior point of contact for clients.

  • Generally, works with wide latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

  • Ultimately responsible for financial performance of services under direction of senior management.

  • Provide senior leadership on multiple client accounts or practice areas

  • Strategically manage designated accounts / clients

  • Develop Consulting Services-wide offering on RWE, be involved in go-to-market strategies

  • Be involved in the discussion on strategic M&A targets to broaden services and fill gaps

  • Lead proposal writing, client presentations, and budgeting

  • Design and implement scientific studies, which may include health outcomes and / or economic studies - from study concept stage to final report, including burden of illness studies, patient-reported outcomes studies, drug utilization reviews, prospective or retrospective observational epidemiologic or health resource utilization studies and database analyses, or market research studies

  • Develop and / or provide strategic review of study reports, scientific publications, abstracts, and posters

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Lead international teams, potentially bridging various skill sets (e.g., consulting, biostatistics, prospective and retrospective data collection)

  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A postgraduate degree (eg, Ph.D., DrPH, M.D., PharmD) in a relevant discipline preferred. Master's degree (in Health Economics, Pharmacy Administration, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health Policy or Business Administration) as the minimum educational requirement and normally requires 15+ years of practical experience and 15+ years supervising senior manager and direct level reports.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possesses and applies an advanced knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of projects of major complexity, sufficient to teach others.

  • Must have achieved recognized standing in professional field through original contribution. Able to substantially contribute to business strategy and planning within broad, business-wide areas of expertise.

  • Broad technical knowledge of outcomes research and health economics, or market research

  • Structured and well organized

  • Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, successful consulting firm, which maintains high quality standards and demands excellence

  • Database management and analytical and statistical skills

  • Economic modeling skills

  • Proficiency is SAS, SPSS, or STATA

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong clinical skills preferred

  • Strong work ethic

  • Functions as a team player

  • Normally requires 35% travel

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
