SKF Aerospace
is looking for talented individuals for its largest factory located in Falconer, NY. We currently have an opportunity for a team leader to help in the development of a "World Class Channel" for the manufacture of high precision rolling elements. This position offers significant growth opportunities. Due to the nature of the business, candidate must be a US Citizen.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership and direction for all technicians in accordance with the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) practices, and the Quality Management System.


  • Assist in the develop and documentation of new manufacturing processes.


  • Participate in formal and informal design reviews on new prototype rollers and first production manufacturing.


  • Assist with design and fabrication of tooling for roller manufacturing and support equipment.


  • Assist in purchasing of instrumentation, data acquisition system, and operator interface and be willing to work with outside vendors to ensure these specifications are met.


  • Must be creative and forward thinking with a focus on process improvement.


  • Determine required resources and assign to each operation.


  • Establish capability to perform all tasks associated with precision roller manufacturing.


  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, procedures, and specifications, and disseminating it to the team as required.


  • Follow ISO9001/AS9100 standards for documented manufacturing and inspection processes.


  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.





Job Requirements:



  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years precision grinding and CNC machining experience.


  • Background in precision measurement/inspection, certification, a plus.


  • Must possess high mechanical aptitude.


  • Degree in Mechanical Technology a plus.


  • Experience in grinding ceramic materials a plus.


  • Good organizational skills, 5S/Lean manufacturing background a plus.


  • Must be a US Citizen (ITAR Compliant).



  • Experience working within an ISO certified environment a plus.





Other responsibilities/capabilities include but are not limited to:



  • Visual inspection (eye examination will be provided).


  • Non-Destructive Testing / Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (maintain level II certification).


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


  • Ability to follow complex instruction accurately.


  • Good computer skills, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc..) a plus.


  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork with the ability to share ideas and knowledge.
