  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Patient Registration Clerk position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Position Summary

has an immediate need for a Patient Registration Clerk to join our care team. The Patient Registration Clerk is the first person the patient has contact with. They review the patient's demographics, which includes their insurance information, patient privacy rights and consents. The Patient Registration Clerk is responsible entering patient information accurately for admission, outpatient, and emergency services.

Responsibilities



  • Obtains signatures, verifies identification and insurance eligibility, obtains copies of insurance cards and completes forms as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Admits patients and transfers appropriate paperwork.
  • Involves interactions with doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel that requires strict patient confidentiality.
  • Extensive on-the-job training will be provided regarding policies and procedures and knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential, as well as empathy for people in crisis.
  • This person should be able to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize work and manage interruptions easily.


Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)





    1. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: N/A
    3. Experience: One year's experience in Patient Registration or equivalent prior healthcare/office experience.
    4. Medical Terminology helpful. Keyboarding skills are required.
    5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
    6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
    7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
