Group Fitness Instructor Intermediate (Recreation Instructor- Intermediate Fitness)

Do you teach specialty classes in series, workshops, or small group training formats? Are you qualified to offer specialized, niche fitness opportunities that most instructors cannot? The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (DPRT) offers a wide variety of specialty fitness classes throughout the community. We are looking for skilled and certified fitness professionals to teach safe and dynamic fitness classes that are focused, individualized, refined, and creatively designed outside of normal group fitness formats. Strong leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, ability to self-direct, and knowledge of current industry standards and trends are a must.

Class opportunities are based on center needs and instructor availability. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include daytime, evening, and weekend classes. Professional Fitness certification and CPR/First Aid certifications required. This position requires 12 months of related experience.

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism conducts DMV records checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
8th grade education and 0-12 months of related experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old. May require a State/Federal background check.
