The incumbent will ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements meeting the Corporation's quality with a relentless focus on eliminating risks and improving the quality of the products as well as of the processes. On a plant scale, the incumbent will strengthen our organizational passion for continuous improvement through greater employee engagement, training, and alignment of improvement initiatives with business strategies. The incumbent provides process excellence leadership across multiple functional areas and will be the "Zero Defects" and auditing subject matter expert.
- Ensure that all standard products within the area of responsibility are manufactured to meet the customer specifications at the minimum cost.
- Guide the team in the improvement of customer satisfaction.
- Work with customer counterparts, as well as leading Parker LORD resources, in the timely resolution of any customer complaints or in closing identified gaps (e.g. from Audits).
- Coordinate preparation, execution and follow-ups of Audits (e.g. internal / external ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, etc.).
- Be the subject matter expert for the AIAG core quality tools, training and coaching the rest of the organization.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the products and processes.
- Ensure that test methods are functional, accurate, and appropriate for the product being tested (MSA).
- Ensure that products are launched with robust APQP processes, and documents like PFMEA, Control Plan and Flow Chart are kept as living documents.
- Coordinate the completion of alternate source raw material evaluations.
- Promote training and education for quality and plant personnel when applicable.
- Provide feedback to direct reports on their performance and contribute to their career development.
- Manage a team of 5 to 20 personnel. REQUIRED
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Engineering Discipline
- 5+ years of Quality Management and Quality System experience in a manufacturing setting
- 3+ years of management experience
- Strong understanding of the AIAG core quality tools (FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Statistical Process Controls, APQP, Problem Solving, etc.)
- Working experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality systems
- Understanding and developing Inspection test methods to maintain all test equipment and meet quality certifications/customer requirements
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including an SPC software (e.g. JMP or Minitab).
- Knowledge of basic algebra and statistics.
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with management and coworkers and to effectively communicate with them.
- Demonstrated effort toward self-improvement by gaining new knowledge/skills and accepting new assignments.
- Ability to complete the job following all policies or procedures regarding safety, waste handling, and environmental regulations without direct threat or significant risk to the health, safety or environment. PREFERRED
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of JMP
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in a Chemical Manufacturing Plant
- Automotive Industry experience
- ASQ
- Six-Sigma, Green or Black belt certification
- ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 internal Auditor
