Medical Insurance & other Benefits begin DAY ONE of Employment. The Auxiliary Operator will work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction of the Control Room Operator. They will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned. Normally, their assigned areas will include the boilers and associated systems such as fans, grates, ash and air pollution control systems, the demineralizer, and the testing of water chemistry. In addition, the Auxiliary Operator will perform the duties of crane operator. The duties of Auxiliary Operator include the safe and efficient operation of their assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures. They are responsible for recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible trouble, and performing actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations. This will be a relief operator position- covering 12hr shifts as needed for training/PTO/vacancies. The individual will be required to work weekends and Holidays as needed to support the operation's shifts. The position of Auxiliary Operator requires a HS Diploma / GED and at least three (3) years of previous experience with high-pressure boilers and electric generating equipment. Formal technical or utility training is preferred. A qualified candidate will be expected to work on training in order to advance to the next level of Control Room Operator which comes with a pay increase.
