Manufacturing Automation Engineer
Responsibilities

  • Project Management of automated processes and internet of things including testing, evaluation, development, layout, implementation and installation. Managing projects with a focus on cost, scheduling and performance.
  • Coordinate project activities with all internal and external parties.
  • Focus on improving the productivity on the shop floor while reducing scrap and promoting cost reductions.
  • Support evaluation and selection of strategic improvement projects.
  • Develop work instructions and training packets to ensure successful operation and maintenance of new equipment and systems.
  • Initiate capital equipment projects including justification, selection of necessary equipment and requisition.
  • Perform necessary functions to adhere to IATF 16949, ISO 14001standards and all Safety Standards.
  • Travel to other global facilities and suppliers may be required up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Manufacturing Discipline (Mechanical or Industrial preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years technical experience related to automation and process optimization.
  • Experience in Project Management leading cross-functional and virtual teams. Knowledge of robotics, vision systems, electromechanical programming/design and injection molding of rubber or plastics preferred.
  • Must be hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong communications skills.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot systems and willing to learn new technologies as our needs evolves.
  • Preferred Lean and Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Preferred software knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, SAP and CAD
  • Course work in mechatronics and/or robotics a plus
