Part-Time Veterinarian

Essential Job Functions
  • Supervises and coordinates student animal care schedules, if needed.
  • Is available for weekend and holiday grading and supervision of animal care, on call in case of emergencies.
  • Diagnose, create treatment plan and provide treatment to animals as needed.
  • Transportation of animals to Veterinary Hospital if needed.
  • Works as liaison between appropriate agencies in the community.
  • Communicates with Program Director regarding emergency care of animals.
  • Submits written report as needed to document emergency care.
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience working in a progressive veterinary team, which includes one or more veterinarians, and one or more certified veterinary technicians, and leadership skills are helpful.
  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited program and 3 years of private practice experience where graduate veterinary technicians were utilized, licensed as a veterinarian in Illinois, or eligible for licensure within six months of employment.
  • Knowledge of diversified work experience including work with live animals in a variety of species within the last three years.
